I was greatly inspired by the art of Amy Brown and her beautiful and unique style of using watercolors. However as many times as I tried to use watercolors I failed miserably. Soon I stopped drawing fairies all together out of despair. About that time is when I discovered the awesome world of drawing wolves and anthros and using color pencils. I got so wrapped up in it that I hadn’t drawn fairies in years.
Just about a week ago I was going through some old art books of mine (they were trapped in a box in a rather dirty basement.)And found an Amy Brown book. I was once again inspired to draw the mystical world fairies. I decided though to try using color pencils instead. I started this piece at work with no reference and was afraid it would look bad but even though the anatomy is off by a lot rather… I still love the finished piece.
